Before you ask about the extra tow hooks; the hood hook was added by the previous owner. First, I wasn't sure it would work once I started tracking the car if I had to be towed out, and second, it would ruin the hood if I did. So I made a couple custom ones up front to double as tie-down points on my trailer.

The car is Cobb Stage II tuned at the moment and I am pretty happy with the current power output. I would like to get tuned on E85 in the future to gain a bit more power, but as it sits, the car is pretty competitive with other cars with more power. This is also sort of a stepping stone for me. I plan to race open wheel eventually and I didn't think going from an 08 Impreza with 101.5 hp to the wheels to a powerful, light, rwd open wheeler would be a good idea.

Future plans are pretty simple. I want to do a full flat bottom with front splitter and rear diffuser. Been looking at alumilite, just waiting for some extra money lol.

I race at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah in a local series called Lap Battle. I'll hopefully be running in NASA ST2 next season.

What's with the tow hook sticking through the hood?

I'm also curious about weight savings. What did you do besides gut the interior? Front subframe (u-brace)? Bumper beams? Any thoughts of a CF/Alum trunk lid with aftermarket wing?

Thanks, I'm american. I've got dozens of other videos on my youtube channel. Some with the sti and some with my now DD 08 Impreza, passing some Porsches and whatnot ;)

The tow hook, idk. Something the previous owner put in, probably for show. I don't think it would be functional if I tried to use it, and it'd ruin my hood.

As for weight savings; interior is gutted, including the dash bar, door glass, heater core, etc. Bumper beams are also gone. The subframes are stock. CF trunk is on my list of to-do's along with a Kognition wing eventually. Stock trunk and wing weigh like 80 lbs. Pretty ridiculous.

But the car is not so bad. it weighs ~2860 with out me in it. I weigh about ~160, so just over 3000 lbs with driver and 1/4 tank of gas.

So is the subframe. You can literally just take it off. Some people say it adds rigidity, but I think that's crap. It's a giant U!

Honestly, it is probably doing nothing for me at this point with all the braces I have under the car, and the cusco wrc cage...haha. I will look into taking it off or maybe replacing it. I looked at the Oswald site. It looks like they've beefed up their design recently? Its got a few more bars than the one in the pic you posted.

with a full rollcage i doubt it'd do anything. I'd just take off your current brace and call it a day.
