Code Intake Manifold Runner Stuck Open

Really? I need to take off the manifold!? They are sitting right on top though on the driver's side, I figured we could just take off the intercooler to get to it. I read on some other forums that I just need to re-spring the teeth by rotating it as I'm putting it on there.

Code Intake Manifold Runner Stuck Open

Trust me, I considered that! But I do not feel like tearing the intake manifold again! Maybe down the road but for now I would rather fix the issue. If it's stuck open, I think I can just hide the code LOL I'm sure it has something to do with the little motors we took off.

Code Intake Manifold Runner Stuck Open

I think I should make this a thread since my old one got kind of luck and this is a whole new topic. Recently my brother and I removed the intake manifold in order to replace a leaky intake manifold gasket. While in the process, we removed what I believe are the TGV motors. There was one on each...

On an added note after some research, when my brother removed the intake manifold, we did remove both of those motors because they were in the way when pulling out the manifold. The motors are those round things that seem to have white teeth on them am I right? Could we have put it bad together...

So after two days of grueling work, well, mostly my brother, we fixed everything. After I got the car back from COBB I was told that the intake manifold gaskets were leaking. Instead of paying more, I decided to take the task on myself. It wasn't, easy but luckily my brother is going to school...

I'm happy to finally be getting her up to speed. I'm considering doing the work myself. I took the intake manifold off my old STi but that was years ago and I can't find that How-To anywhere. If it just the gaskets, I think I could save a hundred bucks for the deductible(or more if the insurance...

Another update: So after they did the smoke test, they found a leaky injector O-ring. And something else, something terrible... A leaky intake manifold gasket. Whoever owned this car before did a shitty job of putting it back to stock! Luckily, intake manifolds and their gaskets are a covered...

Update: So after replacing the turbo inlet, y-pipe and fixing a downpipe leak the car still showed high fuel trims. So, they are going to go through a smoke test today to sniff out any small leaks that weren't noticeable at the beginning.

No :( They had a bit of trouble putting her back together. The tiny little hoses around the turbo inlet connection snapped I believe. So I was going to pick it up this morning but...after they put her back together, they monitored fuel again and it showed it was still running somewhat lean so...

2005 STi stock air intake scoop

2005 STi stock air box intake scoop So, I installed a Cobb Air box and come to find out that I need the stock air box intake scoop in order for it to function properly. I'm ok for now since it is winter but once summer gets around I will need it. Then again, in Texas we never know what to...

Don't feel bad. Neither do I. I mean, I wanted the "all black" look b/c well, it was simple. But this gold thing I'm really loving in my head. I can't think of anything else I would like gold on the outside.

So another crazy idea came to me: What if I was to get gold Supertones, the same color as the rims. See, the previous owner put a lame air horn on it...yes an air horn(I'm taking it off), and I'm going to need a better kick out of my horn plus I like the pillarless look and will probably be...

I should be getting her back today. The excitement is killing me! I have been driving my old '98 Tahoe. I love her to death(close to 250K plus many memories) but I can't justify the gas. With the STi, I could more than justify.

Of course! I mean, I'm a full fledged member and everything! You guys were beyond great help. I'm sure y'all could guide me in replacing all of that stuff but I'm pretty sick of the damn leak. I just want to get her back and tear through the streets.

So, just a quick update. I just got back from COBB and they took a good look at her. They found a tear on the intercooler Y-pipe/hose/I'm not really sure what it's called. And they also found a tear on the intake hose that hooks up to the turbo. They are replacing that one with one called Avo...

Well, that is a gazillion times better at Photoshop that I could ever do. And you know what, that does look like it will look very sexy...Hmm...I'm thinking about cleaning/polishing/repainting them myself. I found some sweet DYI's on the topic. That blackened part would look pretty damn nice...
