    After looking over the 04' STi keys and the 06' keys, I have a small plan and parts on order. I'll document everything in case it all works but I'm planning on transplanting the immobilizer from a new key into the 04' keys. I love the Subaru JDM keys available from places like fastwrx but those keys don't work with the immobilizer system...
