UPDATE:
I had the replacement engine installed. I put on 1320 Racing ELH, Megan Racing Catless DP, the Cobb Intake/Airbox, the GrimmSpeed EBC and got a street tune.
All of that was completed the Spring of 2019. The first few weeks w/the car I kept getting a CEL in the mornings when it was...
Make sure you're running on 91plus. I grew up wanting to be a DJ, even went to college for it but my school's radio station had broadcasting power of .3 watts. Barely enough to make it across the street of the school into my own dorm, haha. But I'm a music guy and now that I finally got my STI...
Yes, it has all of that included. I'm not sure if you mean my turbo, but I don't believe the vf48 is twin scoll, but I've been reading and the turbo for the ej207 v10 is.
Yes, the JDM is 2.0, I'm wondering if it's a direct fit swap. I wouldn't change the heads out, but my heads are 2.5. The engine on ebay is complete, it includes the turbo, intake/exhaust manifold, intercooler the whole shabang.
I was looking for shortblocks w/forged internals on ebay and ran into a JDM 2015 STI engine. It has the ECU computer and all. Will that swap over into a USDM 2015 STI?
Yeah, that's what I was thinking about the pickup but wasn't sure if the killer b was overkill? I believe the cracked pickup was from the previous owner. I got the car w/24K on it and before the engine fiasco I have it up to 32k. This car has been in more shops and my garage than on the road.
1) As much as I love the rumble, it doesn't bother me that it'd be gone.
2)I do have the Cobb SFI, but if its no benefit. Save a couple hundred bucks. I'm not going to try to hit 400whp or anything like that.
3)Thanks for everyone's in put, I'll keep the GS EBCS on.
4)I have a Megan Racing 3"...
Seems i've been around the world and back with car. Not the place to tell the story but the moral of my story is always do a Pre-Purchase Inspection on a Subie. Secondly, I'm once again looking to get my STI on the right track but I'm waiting for my insurance claim to clear. Once that happens...
I apologize for the late reply, we're still having power issues at home so I wasn't able to get on and respond. As of this morning the car has 25,750mi on it. I will say no to excessive oil usage but I purchased the car w/23,900mi on it Sept. 20th of last year. I only drove it to work...
Okay, so I went w/the second setup minus the BOV: Downpipe-Catback Exhaust-Cobb CAI/Airbox and GrimmSpeed EBCS and pro-tune.
During the tune I get a call from the place, the tuner asks if I did anything to the fuel system, he's got it on the dyno and it's "running dead lean." He says he's...
Once I've paid it off past half-way is when I plan to do more with it. Right now I just want a safe reliabel 330-350HP. Once I feel better about it being mine, I'll go deeper in. Thanks for the input!
The GrimmSpeed EBC I already purchased, I was going ahead w/route 1 and I let my buddy know and he made a good point, but I needed more opinions on it. The Cobb dp was the cheapest one I could find on NASIOC.
I'm wondering which of the following builds would work best for me, I know it's preference but would like opinions. I'm currently Stage 1 OTS w/stock intake. My wife gave me the okay to spend as my birthday is Saturday. I got a $1500 budget and with the car I want to safely hit 330-350 HP...
