The rear end appears to be a fusion between an Aston Martin V8 Vantage and a Buick Regal.

Hopefully this means that 2013 and 2017 prices will drop even lower!

As a Regal owner, I DEFINITELY see what you're seeing in the rear end. But the front end, and much of the rest of the body in general, I'm getting more of a Porsche Panamera and a Ferrari California had a baby, kind of vibe. It's not bad though.

No surprise here, but I'm still disappointed with the powerplant. Once again, I can't imagine it'll break 200 whp on the dyno, at least not without a tune and probably an exhaust. Of course I know nothing about it besides that it's a 2.4 liter NA boxer with 228 horsepower. I mean, c'mon Subaru...spill it. Is it direct-injected at least? Is it basically an FA24?

I did see in another article that the engine is mounted even lower than before, so that should definitely improve handling.

The more I look at this body style, the more I seem to liken it.

I'm seeing more and more figures regarding the CTQ.

228 CHP
184 CTQ
-Lower mounted engine
-50% stiffer than previous generation
-Legit sticky tires with the Michelin Pilot 4's
-Essentially the same weight, ~2,800 lb

I also saw in one of the videos of the power chart display in the gauge cluster. The torque dip is essentially eliminated with this engine. Also, all 184 lb-ft of the torque is supposedly available from ~3,700 RPM, compared to ~6,400 RPM from the first generation.

So, the changes made should technically be a drastic improvement. :tup:



Food for thought in the meantime:

Average stock 2013 FR-S/BRZ dyno baseline numbers:
~165 WHP from a supposed 200 CHP = 82.5%
~140 WTQ from a supposed 151 CTQ = 92.7%

So, let's take these percentages and apply them to the new numbers:

Supposed 2022 BRZ power:
228 CHP x 82.5% = 188 WHP
184 CTQ x 92.7% = 170WTQ

So, in essence, we're looking at a +30 WHP and +30 WTQ gain, and that torque also comes in ~2,700 RPM sooner. :tup:
