My name is Rob and I've been a Subaru enthusiast since my dad started working at the Lafayette, IN Subaru, but I've never had the money to buy what I wanted. I will receive a settlement near the first of the year from a previous motorcycle accident and looking to spend 17-25,000 on either an 06 or 07 STI with lower mileage (nothing above 80,000) and as close to stock as possible, because I want to do the work myself. I love the Subaru community and can't wait to be more of a part of it. I wouldn't mind one with some exhaust work, but I REALLY want as stock as I can get. If anyone knows one or has one please let me know, I just really want to avoid dealing with some yuppy on craigslist who's bought cheap ebay parts, or a non Subaru dealership that doesn't have a clue what they're talking about. Thanks for taking the time to read this and hopefully I'll be in my dream car around the first of the year.

Welcome to the forum man!

Youve got a great budget for the specific car youre looking to buy. Cant go wrong with a hawkeye!

Make sure you read the thread for new owners of stis! Ill link it later when i can.

Are you alright from the accident?

Yea Im alright for the most part, other than some slight loss of motion with my right hand, but thank you for asking. I suffered a broken arm, dislocated wrist, deviated ceptum, fractured 1 rib and had a partially collapsed lung, all because a woman ran a stop sign and i smashed into the side of her expedition doing 40, but it only took me about 5 months to recover so I see that as a blessing. And I ABSOLUTELY love the look of the hawks, most aggressive looking to me.

Welcome, and I'm glad your okay and healed. I lost a best friend to a motorcycle crash 4 years ago. I used to ride a CBR 600RR, and it was always the other people on the road that had me feeling sketchy to ride alone. Especially in this day and age with all the distracted driving.

Hawkeye's are probably the most sought after body style, I know a few specialty lots and some dealers that usually have something on their lots. There's a few things too look out for, and with the 07, it's known for having one of the crappiest factory tunes, so keeping to your guns about stock is smart, if someone has messed with a car, and it hasn't had it's ecu properly re calibrated it could be a major headache for you in the long run.
