up-pipe/ headers

i recently purchased a Cobb up pipe. Once i realized that i had to take off the headers to install the up pipe, i thought i should replace the headers as well. Which equal length header will install correctly with a cobb up pipe? Most headers I see come with an up pipe. Any suggestions?

I would just say get a set of headers from a reputable manufacture like Perrin. Reason for this is fittiment. if your willing to deal with the hassle of having to modify the headers or having flanges not line you correctly you could always go with an Ebay no name but fittiment is not always the best with Ebay no name items. I currently run no name Ebay headers, up pipe and down pipe but in 5K miles i have already had to replace the flex section on the up pipe and drill out the wholes a little for the down pipe to mate up to the turbo....Also make sure you use quality gaskets such as OEM or Grimspeed. I use OEM for block to header, and up pipe to turbo. However for turbo to down pipe i use Grimmspeed because its slightly thicker thank OEM and seals with the no name 3" down pipe.

Hope this information helps

I haven't looked too recently, but I think most EL headers come with everything all the way to the turbo.

If you just want to get a little extra performance but are willing to stay UEL, you can PNP the factory components yourself and/or buy drop-in replacements. I believe GrimmSpeed has a crosspipe that they sell, as that's definitely the hardest to PNP.

Ok thanks for the help, I'm thinking about returning the cobb up pipe and going with a tomei or invadia header/ up pipe.

If i were to choose the perrin headers, could somebody explain to me the difference in the regular and big tube headers.

Bigger tubes will slow the velocity, but raise the maximum total flow for the exhaust. You should only go to bigger tubes if you're at big HP numbers and need the extra flow for your huge turbo.
