Well, that sucks!! :-o
The driver of a compact car walked away with no serious injuries Saturday after his car flipped over in a single-vehicle collision on the southbound on-ramp to Interstate 215 from westbound Newport Road, according to the CHP.
CHP officer Eric Newbury told Menifee 24/7 at the site that it appeared the driver took the turn too wide entering the onramp, hit the curb and rolled over. The male driver -- the only occupant of the car -- did not have to be transported to the hospital, he said.
The accident took place about 10:15 a.m. Newbury said the driver was wearing a selt belt and that airbags deployed.
"Everything that was supposed to work, worked," Newbury said about the safety features in the vehicle. "He was a shorter individual. If it had been you or me, it would've been a lot worse."
The on-ramp was closed for about 45 minutes while the crash scene was cleared. The driver was not identified and no other details about the accident have been released at this time.
