Yup, I know a few people that I can borrow them from. Really hoping I don't strip out the cam bolts though.

It has 30k miles on it and looks to be in great shape but I'm going to use this as an opportunity to do a complete timing kit with a new water pump. I was going to order the Gates kit as that is apparently an excellent kit with the exception of the water pump and thermostat gaskets which I've...

Back of housing, between the block and water pump.

Well I got that one to stop leaking with a fresh hose and clamp. But now the water pump itself is leaking. -_-

There is at least one for the coolant line that goes from the thermostat housing over to the oil cooler. Not sure if that's the only one and it's just spraying like crazy while under pressure or if there are more.

SUCCESS! Initial startup went great! Still haven't found my coolant leak so it got pretty warm so I shut it off. I even took it (very gently) down the street and back! Edit: The page wouldn't upload so I double posted I guess haha.

SUCCESS!!!!! Runs like a champ! Aside from a coolant leak I need to find still.

Sure did! He's over in Portland and met me half way. Way cool guy. He put his STI block, trans, and rear diff into his turbo Baja. That thing is a beast. I honestly don't remember how much I got it for, he just kind of tacked it on to my Brembos/spindles as a package deal. He made another and...

I bought it from the guy I bought my spindles from, didn't make it myself. Actually I'm thinking about getting rid of it. I don't think I'm cool enough to always roll around in cop mode constantly. I also would like to eventually get a triple pod with the STI Genome gauges to match...

Fingered it out! Compression test performed! It was cold but 147/143/147/147 Should be ready to rock and roll!

I had the battery checked and charged but according to Odyssey this kind of battery if fully charged can sit unused and not on a trickle charger for 2 years at 77*F, longer at colder temps. I mean I'm willing to check everything again, just unsure since this kind of battery appears to behave...

Don't think so? I was always the one doing the cranking and my buddy said he only heard slight moving of water (I don't have the coolant system completely full as I can't burp the system without a running engine) and that was it.

Whelp, I got everything buttoned up. Clutch done, brakes bled, all connections made, everything was great. Went to crank the engine for the compression test... nothing. I'm getting power to the radio, cluster, gauges, I can hear the fuel pump turn on and prime, but it won't crank. I fully...

Wheels turned out better than I had hoped. Pics don't do it justice. Anyone in SE WA should hit up Peter at Armor Performance Coating for powder coating work.

Nearing the final stages! Fitted my front bumper and got trans fluid in. I also sold my old Motegis and got enough out of them to get some rough shape stock 05-07 STI BBSs, have them powdercoated, and got a gently used set of stock 2016 WRX tires to go with them, without having to spend an extra...

I got irritated with my homework so I took a break and worked on the car a bit. The driver's side rear door wouldn't open so I wrestled the door card off with the door shut, which was a chore mind you. Then I reattached the lock and latch rods on the handle. Done deal. Then I buttoned up my...

    What to buy first.....

I would also second the AOS. If I were to do it over again with a bone stock car, also having a limited budget, I would work on allowing the engine to operate and cleanly and efficiently as possible. Keeping oil out of the intake charge would be my #1 . Not sure what your AOS budget is but the...

Are you building the block at all or just replacing the gaskets and studs?
