06 and above sti oil pan upgrade for 05 and below WRX.

I figured I'd make an actual thread for the oil pan upgrade I did on my 05 Sti rather then just posting it in my build thread. So the reason I went with the 06+ sti oil pan was because my equal length headers were pretty much touching the pan when I test fitted them. The attached photos are a comparison of the header clearance from the 05 sti and 06 sti pans along with the redesign of the better sump and baffles of the 06 pan. The 05 sti pan is the one with the rtv and scratches on it.

I didn't realize there was a difference in the oil pans! Either that's not well talked about (including on our differences thread?), or I just glossed over it because it seemed trivial.

I'll go to your journal next, but did you do anything like a new pickup or baffles in there while you had it apart?

Yes I did. I believe it's a tigworks oil pick up and what was supposed to be a tomei oil baffle/brace. I'd say the baffle/brace is a Russian knock off but I guess that's what happens when you order stuff from ebay. Wasn't trying to buy knock off products.

I will say I had to open the brace up around the pick up tube flange in order to get the baffle/brace holes to line up with the blocks pan holes.
