What would you recommend on the tires that aren't super expensive but decent qualityIf those are Kenda tires, please drive safely and don't do anything reckless..... Those are no name branded tires and I highly doubt they grip. Be careful and responsible.
I'm not sure what a "tyc" transmission is.
The engine bay looks stock from the picture you provided. Did you check if the air filter is clean and ALL fluids are clean/topped off?
Thank you so much for that I appreciate it. Alot I'll get that pic out just as soon as I get up and moving lol. You've been a bunch of help. That looks like the stock downpipe that has a catalytic converter. The turbo heat shield also helps reinforce that perception. I'm assuming the previous owner put on just a catback and the car is still on the factory map, which is fine. I think it's dark outside right now, so tomorrow if you can, take a picture from underneath the car where the two exhaust pieces mate. (Catback to downpipe, middle of the car)
I don't know what your budget is, but this is what I'd recommend. These are brand name tires that have been proven. However, you MUST do YOUR OWN research as well!

Keep in mind these are tires for driving normally on, not taking hard turns. If you want grip, you need to get summer tires that are made for dry and warm weather.
Welcome!
Nice looking car. I like the silver and black combo. I had a silver 06 LGT with black rims.
- In regards to the tune, good luck figuring out if it had a tune on it or not, given its current form I would guess it had a stage 1 on it at most which is no big deal. The SPT exhaust that is on it can be ordered as a factory option (or at least it could at one time). You should not need a special tune if it is catback only. If you do decide on a new exhaust, the SPT will be worth enough to offset some of the cost, I wouldn't let it go too cheap.
- The slop in the shifter could just be some worn bushings.
- Going e85 can be fun. I would recommend you look into a fuel system that meters (not sure if that is the correct term) the fuel, as there is a pretty big difference in the percentage of ethanol actually in e85. I believe the COBB flex fuel kit will do that. The nice part about that setup is the ability to run 93 when needed or a mix of the 2. You will need bigger injectors and fuel pump. Do not "get by" when it comes to the fuel system on these cars. I know people will run several power mods before upgrading the fuel but you really shouldn't max out fuel components, just because they can doesn't mean they should.
- If you have the budget get 2 sets of wheels and tires. 1 set for summer & 1 for winter. All-season is a good economical choice but you are compromising in all conditions except maybe wet roads. Tires make a huge difference in how a car drives and should be a top priority for any drivers that value performance and safety. And unless you have a goofy anime character dragging on the ground behind your car, tires are the only part of your car that touches the ground.
Considering any visual mods? Good luck!
As an update it is a 2.5" cat. So as I'm understanding what has been said it's fine like it is but if I run all 3" from turbo to tip I'll need a tune.
I will be considering some good summer tires with a good set of snow tires also I'm doing all the research I can and it will stay un- tuned for quite a bit

I was getting on a interstate and had a log truck that wouldn't get over but I had room to accelerate and get in front of him. I was running 40-45. I went to downshift from 5th missed fourth went to 2nd redlined and missed the up shift to 3rd and almost ran out of lane before he finally got over I tested it later sitting still and just the slightest pressure left or right and it slides diagonally into gearWhat occurred during the shifter mishap event?
I was looking at short throw but wasn't sure how much it would shorten the left to right throw I know front to back from the videos I watched looked about like a 2" difference front to back throwSince we are talking about fixing/getting a new shifter, what is the consensus on shifters?
Stock with new bushings?
Cobb or other short throw?

O I understand all of that the issue is if I'm even 2mm to the left or right of dead center it will slide towards a corner ie 1,2,5,6 depending on up shift or down shiftWow.
Well, I'm not sure how you shift, but here is the easy way so things like this don't happen:
When you're in a gear that's not in the center/neutral line, say 5th gear, bring the shifter out of 5th into the neutral position, and then bring it straight down into 4th. You'll easily get into gear with no problems. Same thing with 2nd into 3rd gear; go up out of 2nd into neutral, and then straight up into 3rd gear.

Look at the pattern and the lines connecting. It's possible that you forcefully got out of 5th and traveled too much, ending up in 2nd gear. I wasn't there, so I can't be certain.
