How do you remove the STi reverse ring under the shift knob?

Yes my shift knob screws right on. I got a special ring made.

This thread confuses me lol. So you had to replace the reverse lockout to screw on a new shift knob? I had to remove the pin to install a kartboy short Shifter, but never to just put a knob on...

No, lol. My new ball screws right on. I also got a custom reverse ring.
