GD LJ's E85 STi: Addicted To Suspension Mods!

Good, my rear diff wasnt done at the same time and a good lockdown for her ass is the next mod for suspension I'll be springing on. I cringe everytime I hear the rear diff clunk

Agreed. I'm very annoyed with strut clunk, and coilovers are hopefully coming this summer. Ultimate goal for the summer is those, camber plates, and a subframe brace if all goes right.

Does anyone know a lot about coilovers? I.E. differences, how to choose spring rates, when you need camber plates or top hats? I'm trying to learn about this, as that'll probably be the next part to order after I get all of this out of the way, but I'm confused as shit reading about all of the part descriptions

Ordered tonight from Cygnus:
Whiteline 24MM Front Adjustable Sway Bar
Whiteline 24MM Rear Adjustable Sway Bar
Whiteline Front & Rear Ball Link Endlinks
Litespeed Rear Chassis Bridge
Whiteline Race Anti Lift Kit
Kartboy Rear Subframe Botox Bolts
Mishimoto Radiator Hoses
Goodridge Stainless Steel Brake Lines
ACT-XTSS Clutch

$1,900 isn't bad at all. It's exactly what i was expecting, granted I expected to spend $2,400 or so with the Beatrush motor, tranny, and pitch stop mounts.

Now I just gotta pick up some coolant and my Grimmspeed MS Brace :)

I'm holding off on the motor and tranny mounts/pitch stop as of now. I'm waiting until the daily driver situation sorts itself out. I can't wait for spring! It's gonna be fun installing a isht ton of parts!

Ordered the Grimmspeed Master Cylinder Brace from Apex Performance! I'm just gonna wait until Friday to go by Subaru for the coolant.

Also ordered a Tactrix v2.0! Eventually, I'll re-wire it, along with the DCCD controls under the head unit. I'll wait until all the parts are installed before the looming four corner balance.

I'm undecided for the future, but here's the gist of this coming year's plans and goals:

1. Beatrush Motor Mounts, Tranny Mount, Forged Pitch Stop
2. AST 4100 Coilovers with front and rear camber plates
3. M1 Subframe Brace
4. Defi Red Racer Boost, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp in an ATI Clock Pod

I have some money burning in my pocket (still :D), and I could order the numbers 1 or 3, but I really want coilovers. At the same time, I've been putting off the gauge set since I planned on it in year one, and they're an extremely nice safety feature. I preach motor safety, so it makes sense to do those too. I feel like the mount set is justified since I'll pull the motor for the clutch job though.

Someone help me prioritize!

Parts are starting to show up! I missed a package yesterday, so I'm gonna head over to the post office. But so far I've received the Grimmspeed Master Cylinder Brace, as well as the Mishimoto radiator hoses.

Much thanks go out to Cygnus and Apex Performance!

All parts are here! I've already installed the TiC Fender Braces. I plan on making a How To for them here soon. Initial reaction on them is a minor, but noticeable difference. I don't know how much they'd cut down track or autocross times, but for the price, they're definitely worth it!

I'm ordering my sways and end links this weekend! Getting white line 27mm adjustable front, 24 adjustable rears, and sealed ball end links. Then after that AST 4100 FTW!

Hell yeah! I wish the clutch wasn't going, or else I would've dropped money on the AST's myself :( I'll cross my fingers and hope they stay marked down for a bit.

Ehhh, I wouldn't put your money on it. I certainly didn't get that impression from Geoff, but you can ask him if anything has changed. I think AST-USA was just over stocked on 4100's and needed to lower the inventory. I think it's a limited supply, limited time deal.

Congrats on the DD.

I've been waiting for a nice subaru wagon to show up around my area for a good price. No specific year really, anything between 1990 and 2005 are what i've been searching for. No real luck this far. Nice buy though! Im jealous :D

Thanks guys! I'm probably gonna throw some tint on it... The fish bowl look is already bothering me. I picked it up a ways from Denver for $1,200.

JSwan - I'm selling my old one for $400. Ive seen 2.2L long blocks for around $300. My old one needs new rings
