I was semi tboned so hard in an intersection that it spun us 180 degrees and had a gallon of oil blow up in my trunk. The picture of that oil is through a broken window.

This all happened in January during one of our huge snow storms.

Ouch! What was the aftermath? Did you get another car?

It's been a crazy ride over the last year. My girlfriends 92x also seized a timing belt pulley a few month's ago and shredded her belt so there's that had to be delt with.

More in-depth look at the damage.

Where the front swung around and smashed her firm rear.

I think my front went under her truck at one point?

This is the driver side, she hit the passenger rear.

Look at the camber. The frame is screwed. Also the snow tires are mounted backwards. I'm currently consulting with a lawyer to possibly pursue legal action against the shop that mounted them.

Again, I think my front might have went under her truck.

Here's Old blue is at his prime.

It's not fun pushing a 3k pound car up a stee driveway.

If you ever plan on doing anything on your Subaru, own one of these.

Bought the engine off EBay. Got super lucky and this ej253 was clean internally. Replaced the valve cover gaskets and the spark plug gaskets too and the two access gaskets on the back of the block.. The engine had a brand new timing belt kit already on. This particular engine was also off a wrecked Saab 92x which kinda made me sad. But at least this engine will live on in spirit. ?

Got curious and rolled my crank. I felt compression and never any interference.

Got it nice stripped down. And prepped for pull.

Ran into an issue here and there... Michigan has a way to seize engine mount nuts.

I was told all the cool kids did this. Something about #BayStanders ? Or something? Idk I'm old.

Had to remove the flywheel due to the new engine being manual and the 92x being auto. Repleced with flexplate.

New engine in.

Used my old intake as it was in better shape. Also I couldn't find any info on whether if their was any difference between auto and manual and I didn't want to be a gueni pig. From as far as I can tell they're completely the same.

And done. It took me 4 days to do and a couple busted knuckles. I will also be doing a write up on absolutely everything thing that needs to be done for this procedure. There is a surprisingly lack of info for the N/A crowd. A lot of us DD N/A Subarus and I think we all could benefit from it. There are a few kinks to work out, like my power steering having a small whine, a minor exhaust leak from my exhaust manifold. This has literally been the easiest project of this scale I have ever done.

The same project I did on my Si back in the day took two weeks and I always thought that Hondas were the easiest cars to work on. Usually this type of thing makes a person hate a car but this has only burned my passion for Subaru even deeper. My friend who helped even wants a Subaru now. :D

This is what he's gotten himself into with his Mini Cooper S

Yes, that's his entire front end removed and no I want nothing to do with it and he has non of my envy lol... Though now I owe him... Haha

You sure had a lot on your plate. Damn.

Now, the story of the accident:

I was making a legal right on a red. This lady was probably 300-400 feet away and unbeknownst to me until an eye witness told me, was speeding, she was in the inside lane as well. By my estimate she was not going that fast. I lost traction (yes I have snow tires) and ended up sideways, but I was able to get back into my outside lane. I was facing the curb and I thought I had gotten into a safe area where I wouldn't be hit. But at some point she had changed into my lane mid intersection... I noticed this as I looked to make sure I was in the clear.

Like I said she was speeding and attempted to get back into her lane at the last minute. I gunned it and tried to jump the curb but it was too late. She nailed me in my rear quarter so hard she spun us 180 degrees and my front passenger end smacked her rear.

We ended up backwards on the curb, my frame is twisted. Drove it home but had to keep the wheel turned at 90 degrees to stay straight and that barely worked.

As far as insurance, I can't make a claim. In Michigan we have no fault. My insurance will ONLY cover me if I am not in fault. The officer said with the way our laws are written it says that even if I am going 1 mile an hour and I rear ended some one I will be at fault. And because I didn't yield to her I am technically at fault even though she broke several laws during the accident and the witness said she was driving reckless. So her insurance won't cover anything but her and mine won't cover me.

I am severely screwed, ? what a ****ing year.

Wow are you fucking shitting me?!?! Thats fucking ridiculous!!!!!

My buddy offered me his 02 wrx wagon chassis. It's engineless and he said I could have it for free. He had it with the intention of swapping in an STI EJ257, But decided to put the money in to his e30 instead.

Its cleaner than Old Blue ever was. Besides the hatch, which will be replaced.

Comes with cheap coils (will be replaced when I do my suspension work) plus some extras too.

Only catch is that it's an auto. I've read a few threads about swapping, but I was thinking I could swap all the wiring, the ecu and all the other components over and call it a day.

Not the build I wanted, but the one I'll take

Damn dude that is terrible. So sorry to hear. :-(

It'll all work out, Thanks man
You sure had a lot on your plate. Damn.
Yeah, one step at a time, one project at a time.

Just bought:

Victor Reinz Head gasket kit.

Borla Headers.

Cobb up pipe.

Perrin down pipe.

Borla cat back.

AEM cold air intake.

Exedy stage 1+ clutch

And bunch of other small things to get the swap to the New chassis underway. Going stage 2, not the level I wanted to be at this summer, but I'll take it.

Pics and vids! I would like to hear how the borla setup sounds!

The old WRX went bye bye, I got rid of it. Wasn't worth putting in the money.

I decided to dabble in BMW little, picked up a nice e39 540i

But the subbie bond was simply too strong.

So I picked up a 2004 WRX
