Newbie to Subie

Hello everyone! I have been a long time Honda owner of 22 years. My first Honda was an 87 Accord hatchback, then a 93 Acura Integra, then an 05 Acura RSX Type S, and then onto an 08 S2000... For 22 years, I have only known HONDA. I loved my s2k, but i love my 3 year old daughter even more and needed something a little less impractical. So, for an early college graduation present my wife got me a 2015 STI. It's like I've fallen in love all over again! I've always admired the WRX/STI, but never ever given in to the temptation to own one and now that I do it is going to be Subaru for the rest of my driving life.





I have already ordered wheel spacers, eibach springs, cobb shift knob, and deciding on an exhaust now... cobb ap will soon follow.

Welcome! I also came from nothing but Hondas. It seems like there's more and more Honda guys moving over to Subaru. My first car was an Integra, then I had a 00 Civic, 99 Prelude, and then a 2001 Prelude. This is a great forum to be a part of. Lots of great advice to be find and great online fellowship. IWSTI is another great one(not as great as this one, but still pretty good). NASIOC is great for general information, but I would not recommend posting there. Lol. Anyway, glad to have you and welcome again to the Subaru and IGOTASTI Family.

Nice ride!

Make sure you read before you go modding like crazy. These cars are completely different from hondas and you cant just slap on any mod your heart desires. Knowledge is power!

Exactly. I waited a year before I did any mods to it, and of that, the first 4 months were spent doing the driver mod and getting used to the car. Yeah, it takes that long to get used to how AWD handles.

thanks everyone for the warm welcomes! i have been doing nothing but reading and gaining knowledge about this car. right now, im only doing simple bolt ons that wont harm the motor without tune... at least until i get the cobb ap

Welcome! Long time Honda owner here too. Still own an 06 Honda Civic that will be going to my daughter once she gets her license. My wife bought my 15' for me too! Drivetrain and suspension mods are a good place to start before doing any engine mods.
