6236 it's a blue green mantis shrimp not a peacock but if he ever passes away I will get a peacock mantis.
The thing with the mantis shrimp is their super smart animals and know that their in an aquarium and will rarely try to break the glass. He's in a glass aquarium that is pretty thin atm but when he out grows it I'll upgrade to a thick acrylic tank even though I would still say he could break an acrylic tank if he wants to since a full grown mantis impact is about the same as a 22 caliber impact. I don't think am acrylic tank will survive a 22 and I prefer glass for tanks since they provide better visibility.
I feed him snails, clams, crabs, muscles etc and he demolishes them so I know he could break most glass or thinner acrylic aquariums if he decided he wanted to venture out of the aquarium.
His tank is next to the TV and you can hear his Caveat (sonic air bubble under water) popping when he is hunting his prey over the TV volume.
A goal is not always meant to be reached, it often serves simply as something to aim at. (Bruce Lee)
