If I could have the original in Word, I can happily proof read it for you - just read through it all, some spelling and grammar to clean up, but reading well.

Some suggestions:

- in the tips and tricks section, provide links / URLs to some of the better known tools out there
- maybe on the WOT logging section - reference IDCs - as my experience has proved, you can't always rely on the 'professionals' to have properly matched the tune to the fueling capacities (with potentially devastating consequences)
- also in that section, maybe reference the difference between CAN and SSM logging, and in particular the importance to log limited variables, and look out for 'lag' in the logs (i.e. variables not coinciding with other variables on the same line)

This is going to be a great manual!

Can you slpain this one differently Lucy? I'm have a hard time wrapping my think head around it.

The last one about CAN vs SSM? If so, in a nutshell say your AFR was the last variable out of say 12 variables being logged using SSM, given that the tactrix (in my case) can only really read 7-8 variables per cycle (in other words one line in excel) in the above case, the AFR is likely to correlate with the other variables being logged one or two lines up (lagged). Problem with that is that if you take the values at face value (eg AFR corrections) your interpretation will be out. With CAN logging, you don't have that problem - up to 40 variables per cycle.

Ahh okay I gotcha.

I know there is not a can logging function with ATR or the AP. It is strictly SSM. As far as RomRiader goes I'm not sure you can do CAN logging on the GD though I know it is possible. The super top secret device I will be getting can log CAN.

In the OS space, only the onboard SD card logging on the Tactrix can do CAN logging - Romraider is still SSM (which is why I'm so keen on doing the Innovate wideband 'splice' into pin 8). CAN logging is the bomb... so much resolution!

This thing I'm getting logs the OBDII and an external wide band. Is that what you are doing?

Well, that's what I want to do once I get the ODB2 extension cable - basically, identify the cable going to the pin8 input on the Tactrix, splice the analogue output from the wideband, and voila - CAN logging, including wideband - so yeah, basically the same end game.

So I wasn't quite happy enough with my current tune so I decided to pick it apart some more. I was thinking about what makes the turbo spool and what I can adjust to get the best results but I wasn't much success at first. Then I was reading some where about strategies that some tuners use to achieve better spool times and I decided to experiment based on what I have read. I have discovered for my self that if you richen your AFR's and increase the timing in the regions of the map that begins to make spool, you can improve the spool-up characteristics greatly. For me this region was between 2400rpm and 3200rpm and between a load of .90 and 2.00.

Additionally I found that my AVCS setting were not ideal for the turbo I'm using so I re-did that entire table. I essentially modified a stock table and left the lower load regions of the table alone and raised the advance in the higher load cells... essentially.

My turbo use to start spooling around 3500rpm and didn't see full boost until 4200rpm. Now it begins to spool at 2600rpm and reaches full boost by 3300rpm.

I am quite happier than a pig in shit right now!!! :tard:

Me likes quick spool!!!

Now if I can only get my new engine in.

NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll take the intake off tomorrow to do some exploratory surgery. It's coming from somewhere under the intake manifold
