I already do that. Between MY BOV and running E85 on the rich side at WOT, I can have quite the fireworks display!

Funny thing is I have driven through the crowded village in the middle of a peaceful sunnny Sunday afternoon and shifted. It is pricesless to see everyone with in a thousand foot radius hit the deck because they think it's a drive by.

I did some more work on my heads today. My machinist friend bailed on me and now I was left to my own devices. One very important thing for me is that the mating surface be perfectly flat and have the correct finish and I never thought I could get there without machining. So I ended up borrowing a calibrated flat marble surface and a calibrated straight edge from work and got some 180 grit and some 300 grit sand paper and began to sand the surface flat in a two stage process. It was perfectly clear how much the surface needed correction after the first few passes. I must have ultimately taken about 4-5 thousands of material off untill all surface blemishes were gone. I couldn't be more happy with the results. They are now perfectly flat when compared against the calibrated straight edge.

After that was done I lapped the valves and installed my new Supertech seals, springs and retainers...

I just don't like to spend money for something I can do my self LOL.

I would usually have doubts doing something like this but I was able to compare them to a calibrated straight edge so I know these are perfect.

Now wether they are square or not that I don't know. I'll take a chance.:)

I'm sure its just as good as a shop would do. If I see you boring your block with a drill press I might second guess your methods. :D

I've done that before... With a hand drill and a course grit stone.
