I'm definitely going to need a parts list for that EGT setup when you get to it. That thing is amazing.
SudoSTI Before I get to this list, are you interested in just an EGT readings or all of them including oil temp and pressure, fuel pressure, coolant temp, voltage and wide band. This is completely custom and you can have any level of complexity you desire.

Are you interested in controlling anything?

So much room for activities! I think all that except for wideband would be fantastic. I have an AEM boost gauge and a UEGO by my cluster but all the other stuff would be stupendous. Especially if I could run it on a double din. That would keep my interior from getting all cluttered with gauges. Once I finish my program at school I could probably design my own but working through it as I'm learning it I think will be a great experience.

A double din would be awesome. Room enough to put everything on one screen. The possibilities are endless. 4D Systems just so happens to have a 7" display that fits nicely in a double din spot.

Yep I'm looking in to this type of set up as well since all i will have as a Guage will be uego AFR that I plan on putting in the drivers side air cent of my 05 sti since I don't want to clutter the car with gauges.

Or you can do what I do and that is to hide the UEGO somewhere out of sight and feed the 5 volt output to the multi gauge display and view your wide band from that. Tada.... no gauges at all.

@SudoSTI

here is the list... It should contain everything you need to complete the project as I have built only with out the amplifier and oil cooler control. You will need to refer to the schematic for the little electronic bits and I have attached it below.

1.) x1, Arduino MEGA R3
2.) x1, 4D Systems Intelligent Display (size of your choice). I recommend a display that utilizes the Diablo processor
3.) x2, 150 psi pressure transducer. You can find these on Ebay and the only criteria is that they have a temperature range at least to 120*C. (example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/150psi-Pres...ash=item27ce49f6b1:g:gE0AAOSwLqFV9pLK&vxp=mtr)
4.) x2, DS18B20 digital temperature probe. (example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Waterproof-...502025?hash=item27e993cc89:g:rt4AAOSwq7JT7wZO)
5.) x4, K-type thermos couples (example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-2M-EGT-...220137?hash=item419c2f4e29:g:s3EAAOSwd0BV7WDl)
6.) x1, Thermocouple amplifier, Quad MAX31856, 5V (example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Quad-MAX318...638597?hash=item3aaecaf085:g:ixMAAOSwLVZVuBbj)
7.) x2, 1/4 NPT male to 1/8 NPT male adapter (for making the temperature probe)
8.) Various water proof connectors, 2 way and 3 way (example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-Kits-Car...ash=item3cf2f5d48a:g:W2IAAOSwZjJU3BEm&vxp=mtr)
9.) x1, 3.5mm stereo audio jack (example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-5mm-1-8-M...393759?hash=item3f3c49909f:g:ob8AAOxywh1TCLx2)
10.) x1, 6ft stereo 3.5mm male to male cable
11.) x1, stereo 3.5mm ?Y? adapter
12.) x2, 3.5mm stereo connector (example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/10Pcs-GOLD-...500241?hash=item27f6552711:g:aq4AAOSw8d9UsUSJ)
13.) x1, Case, main unit (example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Project-Ele...267752?hash=item235b93cae8:g:nrwAAOSwwTlUoOI9)
14.) x1, Case, waterproof, Thermocouple amplifier (example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Plastic-Wat...320490?hash=item41844a0fea:g:zLYAAOSwq7JTzgj-)
15.) x1, Connector, Waterproof, 8 pin (example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Set-Auto-8-...ash=item20eae3763b:g:gi4AAOSwq7JT8d6G&vxp=mtr)
16.) x1, DB-9 female connector + hood.
17.) x1, DB-9 male connector
18.) 9 conductor cable (example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Length-of-5...530579?hash=item4d37e97d13:g:JegAAOSw4SlV8HZB)
19.) x2, Cable gland, 1/4 NPT (example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/lot-of-5-1-...803915?hash=item3f269d9fcb:g:wVsAAOxy63FS5Xd3)
For other electronic parts, see schematic.
20.) x1, 4.3 monitor display (only if you plan on using the 4.3" display) used to house the 4.3" 4D Systems display. The existing guts will be sacrificed(example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-3-HD-reso...574137?hash=item43c9085079:g:DEcAAOxyTjNSjWuZ)

For other electronic parts, see schematic. See also, the full project at 4D Systems forum... http://forum.4dsystems.com.au/forum...-systems-as-an-automotive-multi-gauge-display

To build the temp probes I drilled out the 1/4 to 1/8 NPT male to male adapters with a 6 mm drill bit and then inserted the temp probe and back filled the 1/4 npt side with JB weld. If you have any other questions you can ask me as you go.

It just dawned on me: here I am making a big stink about gauges cluttering up my dash and wanting to compact it to a double din head unit... when I'm going to have a goddamned laptop mount hanging off my dash.

Nice... I was going to get one of those to mount my laptop for tuning. Now since I have a car PC that became a mute point. Now I can do live tuning and logging right from my dash if I so desire.

And you thought texting while driving was bad! :D

At least the mount is properly done.

It has been some time since I updated anything here. Well recently my car suffered a blown head gasket and the poor thing is laid up for a week. This is the first time the engine has been out of the car but at least it is being taken care of the right way. Lesson learned is not to run 25 pounds of boost on stock head bolts and gaskets! :tard: Kinda glad this happened because it gives me a chance to tidy up some connections and hoses and install my fuel system. My friend also decided to give me a little Christmas present and did a proper TGV delete for me including port and polish and gasket matching. Can't wait to get back in the drivers seat once again!!! :D I am anticipating it to run even better and smoother than it did before.

AgencyPower makes a nice fuel system but the lines are a bit to long.

I thought about building the block but I'm only ever going to make no more than 400 so I am just going to keep it stock. The engine is so tight with absolutely zero blow by or oil consumption and I hate to ruin that record. If and when I physically blow the motor, then I will likely build a block and up the power.

Additionally the reason I changed the fuel system is to allow an adjustable FPR and switch to a parallel system and not necessarily to support more power.

Very nice.

How's it run?

Pretty much the same as it did before. It's a bit smoother but now I have to retune. I must have had a vacuum leak somewhere because the fuel trims are a bit wonky. I will be doing that tomorrow.

Not much anymore. About 350ish or so. Power was sorta what got me into this situation so I am turning it down for good and just enjoy the car. It is my daily and I can't afford anything else for a while. I need to make it last. I want to have the best running and reliable STi and I think I'm on my way to doing that. A tidy tune and frequent oil changes and routine maintenance should be a good recipe to achieve that goal.
