i have a friend that lives in ohio and we all make fun of him (jokingly) for it. is it really that bad?

It's not that bad if you grew up in it like I have. I learned to call it home, but god damn it has some downsides, as I'm sure every place in the world does as well. It's the entire tristate area as a whole probably. Battle scarred roads, garbage winters with carcinogenic salt, majority of the population is scum, and so on. :lol:
