Thanks! ! I will keep that in mind for sure... might be a while before i can get the turbo... so anything i can do to increase the capabilities of the stock unit is on the table..
There is the option to port and polish the turbo and add a billet wheel. This should increase spool and possibly squeeze out some ponies.
Maybe swapping to a later model subaru turbo like the VF48's. They seem to be a bit more capable with a touch better top end.
You've got a lot of mods already and I'm not sure just how much more you can do to gain any significant power.
Eh, not really. Probably just a coincidence that that happened. Might wanna consider a bigger pan and a new pick-up tube while you got the old pan off. Killer B has a nice setup.
Nothing at all according to them. It is a bone stock turbo. No polishing or porting and no billet wheel.
Porting and polishing increases airflow velocities, smoothing of the air stream and with enough porting it can cram more air into a once smaller place.
Billet wheel is just simply lighter and takes less effort to spin which decreases spool time and the lighter weight may increase wheel rpm, at least faster. Changing the number of blades or profile of those blades can also increases airflow and it's characteristics.
Not boring to me!

Yes I think so. Stock pickup is good for cracking and then starving your engine for oil and then BOOM.
Bigger pan means more oil and lesser of a chance of running out of said oil. Maybe also a bit cooler oil temps.
I've always scratched my head at why they use a 4 qt oil system. Seems rather silly on a performance vehicle .
