Sorry JJ - only seeing this now! I still need to read through the moderators forum etc. It's been a long week... Thanks for the vote of confidence!

No problem. I have been stalking you for a year now.

Chuckle... I'm not sure whether to be afraid now :tard:

As you might have figured out by now, I'm a low bullshit quota kind of guy. I get enough of that at work. This is a bullshit free zone, exactly my kind of forum.

Now if we could just teach Fuji that. Lol.

Maybe you have taught Fuji, he missed out completely on a whole conversation about anal lubing with hints of sodomy.

We can't be so lucky. :)

I've got to reflect on this, especially after seeing some of the posts on Subiecop's thread - if only to rub it in ;)

The police service here is distinct from the traffic cops - basically you have the 'real' law enforcement, powers of arrest, etc. South African Police Service, and then you have the various metropolitan police forces, which are peace officers, and predominantly deal with traffic related offences - these are the guys who bust your balls on the roads.

Now the point of my meandering story... twice now, over the past year, I've had encounters with the SAPS (national cops). Now generally, you want to avoid these, as they tend to be the real deal (searching for illegal arms, that kind of thing) - but not if you're driving an STI ;) The first time, I'm driving my kid to dayschool, and I see a marked vehicle behind me, which then turns into the same road I take to go to her school. I'm thinking, ah shit, now what. Siren, pull me over - 4 cops in the car. One comes over to my window, says to me "you know why we pulled you over? [Pause] we love this car!" and they all proceed to gauk over the vehicle.

Second time, a couple of days back, I'm driving back from work, up a road that I generally tend to let loose a little. This day, I see a blue van up ahead, so I drive like a perfect gentleman, basically right alongside him all the way up a hill. Stopped at a traffic light, I'm fiddling with my radio, and hear that characteristic 'blip' of a siren next to me. I look over, he motions me to roll my window down. I do so, and he says to me "open her up a little, let me hear that engine!" So I rev it up a little, he gives me a thumbs up, flashes his hazards, and missions off on his merry way.

I love the fact that Johannesburg is still a frontier town...

Td_d if you only knew HOW MANY different police services we have just at the federal level, let alone state, county, and municipal. We have cops for anything, I wish our country would go to one or two federal agencies, one state agency per state, one county agency per county, and one police force per city.

Yeah, from what I've seen jurisidiction is a real word in the States - we have provinces (states), but fundamentally it's a centrist political system, so the national departments carry the real clout - constitutionally and otherwise. Federalism, like the States, brings in a whole new ball game in terms of levels of powers...

Yea, sadly I didnt. Everything else on the car checked out, but I didnt think I needed to pull on fittings to make sure they were installed properly. Thats Barney shit.

I was working on the sti getting it ready for state emissions and inspection. As well as being shit faced drunk when I wasn't doing that.... Still need to scale my MAF before Thursday.... Also been car hunting for a new beater to replace my Celica. Going with either a 240sx (hard a dick to find the right one) or a Porsche 944..... Haven't decided yet. Going to go check out a 944 Wednesday if all goes well.....

Just turn off all your CELs

..... Dude I am seeing A/F correction all the way up from -25.00 too +19.50..... That is bad... I am pretty sure that during the idle and 2500prm emissions test I will fail right now. I just need to plug in my log from Sunday into Air Boy's spread sheet. I figure one too two logs should be engouhg to get me into the +/- 5.00 area where it should be good enough. Once reason I am looking into the SD.

Figured as much.... O well.... I am thinking though that SD will be very helpful for me when I upgrade to Dom 1.5 since it will keep me from having to buy a big MAF setup. How hard is the VE table to setup by the way? What about SD makes it that much harder?
