Ok, so a couple of things:

How do I prevent that part from getting squashed in anymore and eventually tearing apart? I see so many with that part ripped open. Mine is a little mushed in, but nothing major.

This is inside my gas cap... What do you guys suggest doing in order to remove the aids!!!!!

Stick a knife in and rotate around the seed thingy.
You have two halves now.
Pull the seed thingy out of one half.
Mash the hell out of the mushy stuff.
Add things to it for flavor, if you desire?
