Glad you got that one worked out... I was scratching my head trying to figure out what might have been the problem and your solution is not sitting well in my brain now either  :tard:

Any explaination why this worked? Just incase I do this in the future.

"If a radiator cap is not opening properly during the engine cool down, it can cause radiator hoses to collapse. Pressure is built within the hoses whenever the temperature is hot and the coolant is expanded. Once the coolant cools, it will try to suck extra coolant into the system through the radiator cap. If the cap does not open and allow that coolant to flow, the hoses will pull a vacuum and collapse. If this happens, remove the radiator cap and you will find the hose will ?inflate? again."

Time to look into my breaks also. Power is out of effective range of the breaks for a split second or two under peak power, going to give them a bleed this week and see if it helps. Clutch is just about done as well. Guess I get to go shopping !!!

Well, I was hoping this day and this post wouldn't come for an extremely long time and my heart is at the bottom. I totaled my STi on Sunday night driving home from my parents house with a head-on collision at 35 mph. Doesn't sound too bad in all reality, but let me tell you right off the bat. My SPARCO harnesses saved our lives. My wife was in the passenger seat with me at the time and thankfully the intense damage was on the driver's side of the car, not hers. Here is a quick walk around...

Thank God you are both ok. You can replace the car, but not you and your wife. STi of the month as a tribute pal. She did her job and protected you both. You had a angel on your hood. You need anything just ask. We are here for you brother.

Oh man, so sorry to hear that, like JJ says, as long as you walked out of it unscathed. I see the bags deployed, even at 35mph, that must have been quite a smash. You must be heart broken...

Holy shit, glad you made it out okay. Are you going to be able to salvage parts for another STi or are you going a different route?

I think I have to wait for insurance to take parts off the car? Not sure.. I have never been in an accident so I am not sure what to expect.

Holy cow! You must be devastated with all the money, blood and sweat that you have in that car, my heart goes out to you. Beyond that I am speechless.

Definitely you should have STi of the Month as a remembrance and a tribute. I want to cry.

The numbness is slowly dissipating. Effing anger to the core, disappointment to the core, I am so let down I would put myself in that situation. Money is making me sick to my stomach, the fact that I pretty much accomplished my goal with the car is the worst feeling. I ripped about 2 cars on an R1 and then 2 days later it was taken from me.being modest, if I were to part it out, with just stuff not counting the motor, my tally is at $8100, with basically a 40% discount on all my parts.

Internals would be another chunk, cylinder heads are a work of art - that's another huge chunk. FCK this is killing me now.

Let's pretend the suspension is salvageable. That's another thousand. My chargespeed side skirts? Another 500. Now start taking the block into consideration...it may be worth just buying it and stripping it.

LOL Gino. Trying to hold down the fort. It was a lot of information to process, seeking answers to a lot of questions today.
