On Vacation
Next week I will make an appointment at my 'nonelectronics' mechanic and see if I can put my car on the lift to take pictures of everything underneath - find out what it has for suspension, brakes, exhaust and all. Try to learn more about the car. I know now that the guy put money into aftermarket parts but not standard maintenance so I am fairly worried. I am also worried because I dont know if the guy tuned for any of the parts he put on.

Here is a pertinant question in regards to Sadie...

Should I do my suspension right away (appx cost: 6500$ - 7500$) or jump straight into the engine which still 'presently' has the extended warranty on it (appx cost: 25000$)

I have 16000$ presently in the bank so if I do suspension now after this labor to get her running properly again - I will have 10000$ left and have to save 18000$ to do the engine unless I pay it out of my own pocket.

If I do the engine now it will be piece by piece or rather month by month in intervals of boltons up to maybe 1750 a month...

Get the block built (probably 13000$) and have 1000-3000$ for boltons then each month have about 1750$ to put into more boltons. It would take two months for the block to be built which would be a saveup time for more purchases.

On Vacation
Just purchased my tickets for Wicked Big Meet this year in CT...dont know anyone out there to stay with in June yet so a hotel is likely unless I sleep in the back of Sadie. Paid the extra to get to go with a pro driver and better my driving skills - WOOHOO!

I think I may go ahead and do suspension and get a solid radar detector and racing gear that way I can do some events this year - save up through the winter - and do the engine in time for events for next year. Since regardless I dont have the money saved for the complete engine build presently with the boltons. So Sadie will become a gokart! xD

By next year I will have everything so I can be sure to do absolutely everything unless I go piece by piece and have the engine parts sent for the install over time during the year.

Thursday April 26, 2012

Picked up car from dealership where leaking seals and worn bearings were replaced spending 1300$ while 800$ was covered by the extended warranty.

Found out Sadie's compression at a cold start reads 135 which is normal according to Subaru since when she warms up she will raise to 150.

Applied rally style name vinyl on rear windows of Sadie as well as 'Boobalicious' bubble gum pink with chrome outline vinyls on both front doors. Waiting for full size scoobiesforboobies vinyls for application before pictures will be taken.

I will be trying to get her out to dyno asap.

I didnt see this on the list, although I have no personal experience with it: Master Cylinder Brace.

Honestly, I hadnt thought of it.

But it would definately work well with the Hose Candy Master Brake Booster line I ordered and the SS brakelines I ordered xD

I will still have ample time to order one before I do the install of everything else.
