Ordered: Kicker 11ZX750.1 Amp for subs (found one brand new for 250$, its normally 500$)
Ordered: 20ft Kicker 4g wire (for power/ground upgrade) Paid: 35$
Ordered: 20ft XScorpion 1/0g flat wire (for stereo wireup) Paid: 60$
Ordered: 2x Kicker Inline Fuseholder Paid: 19$ & 21$
Ordered: 2x 3 port Kicker battery terminal Paid: 19$ each
Ordered: Pair of Kicker 200a fuses (for stereo wireup) Paid: 10$
Ordered: Pair of Kicker 100a fuses (for power/ground upgrade) Paid: 9$
Ordered: 8x 5ft of 12g Stinger speaker wire Paid: 21$

Most of the audio and power upgrade will be ready to be done come spring.

That will be the end of my infrequent spending until I start doing sections from the lists.

Thus I start saving.

Arrived Today: 20ft 1/0g XScorpion Flat Power Wire
Arrived Today: 20ft 4g Kicker Power Wire
Arrived Today: 40ft 12g Competition Stinger Speaker wire
Ordered Today: Impreza Subwoofer box - Charcoal 3/4" MDF with Twin 12" round cutouts, once recieved will mount amps to rear of box to maintain trunk space versus present design.

Present design being amps mounted to trunk floor behind back seat and box freely sliding on the floor between the amps and the lid. Not efficient.

Still need to order 650.4 amp, component front speakers, rear speakers and dynamat for all four doors.

Install of wires, dynamat, fuses and replacement of box and all will likely cost around 750-900$ at Best Buy. Just need to wait for the box to arrive, the 750.1 amp to arrive, and order a 650.4 amp and attach subs and amps to box. Best Buy installer last time said installing speaker wire upgrades are a waste of money but I want to make sure my car sounds good in engine, exhaust, and stereo...especially if I am going to be taking lengthy road trips in the future.

Me too! My brother got me hooked on Kicker when I was.. uhm.. 12? lol

If I end up with a good amount of left over wire...would you want/have use for it?

Also...do you need amps?

I have a kicker and an alpine...I think the kicker is a zx300.1 and the alpine is 400.4

Updated parts list adding engine build estimate and parts requirements...added some parts i've ordered that im waiting for and ones I recieved on the low end of the price list...

By advice of Reks I am looking at BC coilovers compared to Megan Racing coilovers - I know I wont need the high rates Reks uses since I do not track as much and do DD my car.

I will need to make sure the installer knows what they are doing if I do get BC so I do not get the 'clunk' that many BC users complain about.

But that will be a way down the road...by the time im ready to make up my mind (September)...I will have researched for 8 months about parts and bugged Reks and Fuji for 3 months about the parts list.

Today I went to lunch with my parents and while we were en route to ruby tuesday I decided to explain my project to the folks...mother already knew most of it but father isnt much of a car enthusiast and tends to replace his vehicle every two years. After telling him about the type of money the first half of the project would cost he just stared at me and asked "Why didnt you just save for a year and buy a 60000$ BMW instead of getting that thing then? It makes no sense to spend 25000$ on a car and then throw another 40000$ in parts on it. It will never be worth over 30000$."

My first response to him was "What kind of bullshit airforce logic is that?!" but then I paused, "This year I will upgrade every potential weak point in the car fixing any possible problems from the previous owner...next year my car will be completely paid off...your mariner which you just got will be traded in three years because you never pay off your cars and just trade them in every three years. My car with these upgrades will be good for at least ten years of driving it into the dirt."

He fails to realize every time he trades in a car every two years for a newer model it loses value...last time he owed 18k on his envoy and it was only worth 12k when he traded it for his mercury...

In the end I realized I may as well talk about my project plans for my car with the dog...him and the pomeranian give me the same look when I talk to them...

Then he goes "Well, why spend all this money on a car when you never go anywhere?" I was all "North Carolina is somewhere, I thought...and I will be more likely to go other places like SEMA if I know my car will handle it."

Darn skippy! ^_^ Random roadtrips to other states to get things done.

Then again...I am still trying to teach my father that EFI means that he does not need to rev the engine when he starts it.

He calls it a 'habit'

The last car he had to start like that was my 1980s Oldsmobile which had a 350 with a 4 barrel carb...EFI has been around since then XD

He goes to start my mother's 2004 Jeep...and RAWRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

"Why did you push the gas?"

"I didnt!"

"Why did it go RAWRRRRRRrrrrr?"

"Its a habit, huhuhuh..."

"A habit from the 80s? Is this in the same foundation as mullets and bellbottoms?"

I keep laughing at the thought...

"Yeah, MF, try starting Sadie with your foot on the gas...let the world know you are an idiot...6000 RPM on ignition with a car in 1st gear with the parking brake on parked on gravel..."

Im trying to plan out my build for later in the year...

Reks has me staring at Element Tuning for longblock engine build with all the sugary goodness...

then Spec Ops for all the other stuff...Element Tuning is enroute to NC...sorta...

Its looking like it will be OCT - NOV timeframe if the VA approves the unemployability...

The curiosity...

Upon opening the hood to use trickle charge to repower Sadie's battery...I found an unusual coloration to many of the non aluminum parts...further investigation showed it was mostly a dust...and it neither smelled nor tasted acidic...though it did show signs of salt due to drying my hands...and appeared to be eating slightly into effected parts when dry brushed off...

Sadie hasnt been driven at all this winter so salt shouldnt be effecting it like that - she has been parked inside a closed off shed distanced from the road...

And the battery looked fine with no signs of swelling or explosive discharge...
